After spending three glorious days of amusing adventure in Winston-Salem, I am back in my home haunt of Charlotte and trying to jump back into the groove of my daily routine. But like my current work in progress, my routine is still in rough draft form. From my home writer nook to my “day job” schedule to my family obligations, everything is in upheaval and this time it’s a good thing.
One major change has been where I do the bulk of my writing. Yes, I still do quite a bit at home (pictures of my redesigned writer’s nook coming soon) but the majority is now done on the go. Not literally “on the go” as that… that just conjures up a weird mental image. …Yeah, moving on.

Coffee shops, book stores, cafes, any wifi spot. I’ve a whole new appreciation for establishments that offer the magical words “FREE WIFI.” If I can grab an hour or two between the gym and a shift at the day job, I can be a much more productive human being. Not just with my word count, but in social media, answering emails, and all the things that I love.
For instance, I love meeting new people!

Okay, not in a creepy way.
But I do love meeting new people, be in person or via social media. My favorite part of going to a meeting, a workshop, a conference is making friends out of strangers and meeting up with those I’ve only known in social media form. Granted talking to someone in person is different than exchanging tweets with someone new, but I believe both hold value.
My challenge to anyone reading this is to make a new acquaintance! Tweet back and forth with someone you haven’t before on Twitter or comment on someone’s wall post on Facebook.
Go forth and befriend! ;D
